Our authorisation
eCapital Funding Pty Ltd (ABN 87 644 317 902) operates and is licensed under Australian Credit Licence No. 384704. Credit representative details for our individual advisers are available on request or on the ASIC Professional Registers.
What we can do for you
We are authorised to provide credit assistance in relation to a range of credit products, including:
- Residential home loans and investment property loans
- Commercial and business loans
- Construction and development finance
- Private and specialised funding
- SMSF lending
- Asset and equipment finance
- Refinancing and debt consolidation
Providing credit assistance means we will suggest or assist you to apply for a credit contract or increase to a credit limit with a particular credit provider. We are not the credit provider.
Your best interests
When we provide credit assistance to consumers in relation to regulated credit contracts, we are required to act in your best interests and to give priority to your interests when there is a conflict. We do this by understanding your requirements and objectives, making reasonable enquiries into your financial situation, verifying that information, and considering a range of products from lenders on our panel.
Not unsuitable assessment
Before providing you with credit assistance, we will conduct a preliminary assessment of whether a proposed credit contract is not unsuitable for you. A written copy of this preliminary assessment is available free of charge on request within 7 years of the date the assistance was provided.
Our lender panel
We hold accreditation with a broad panel of Australian lenders, including the major banks, second-tier banks, non-bank lenders, mutual banks and specialist private funders. A full and up-to-date list of lenders we can access is available on request. The six lenders we most often place business with in the previous 12 months are available on request.
Fees payable by you
Whether we charge you a fee for our credit assistance depends on the strategy and complexity of your transaction. On some engagements we charge a fee, and on others we do not. Where a fee is payable, the fee, the amount and the payment terms will be disclosed to you in writing before you incur any obligation to pay, in a Credit Quote and Credit Proposal Disclosure Document.
Commissions we may receive
Lenders typically pay us commissions when a loan we have arranged settles. Commissions are paid by the lender, not by you. There are two types of commission:
- Upfront commission: paid on settlement, generally between 0.40% and 0.75% of the loan amount (excluding GST), depending on the lender and product.
- Trail commission: paid monthly over the life of the loan, generally between 0.10% and 0.30% per annum of the outstanding loan balance.
The exact commissions payable in your specific transaction will be disclosed in your Credit Proposal Disclosure Document before you enter into the credit contract.
Referral arrangements
We may receive referrals from, or pay referral fees to, third parties such as accountants, financial advisers, real estate agents, solicitors and other professionals. Where a referral fee is payable in respect of your loan, the arrangement will be disclosed to you in writing.
